The University of Nicosia (UNIC) is the largest university in Cyprus in terms of student enrolment, with more than 14,000 students from over 100 countries, supported by about 550 full-time teaching/research and administrative staff.

A private university located in Nicosia, the country’s capital, UNIC, with an international presence in 20 other cities worldwide, is driven by the pursuit of excellence in teaching and learning, innovation, research, technology and contribution to society.

The Medical School of the University, founded in 2011 in collaboration with St George’s University of London, is the largest in Cyprus in terms of student enrolment, hosting over 900 students from around the world.

Internationalisation is a central component of the University’s strategy, as attested by the offering of Cross-Border Education, implemented primarily through online education and joint/double/franchise/collaborative degrees. Such degrees  are offered in collaboration with the Universities of Oviedo, Padova, Zagreb, Western Sydney, City London, St George’s London, MGIMO, ITMO, Aristotle, Patras, Peloponnese and the Hellenic Open University.

The University is also a member of other University networks such as EUA, EURASHE and ACU, a signatory of the Magna Charta Universitatum and recipient of both the Diploma Supplement (DS) and the ECTS Labels. It offers more than 100 programmes  at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and  Doctoral levels, most taught in both English and Greek. Additionally, the University offers 29 Distance Learning (DL) online programmes (including 4 joint ones) and has set itself up as a regional leader in DL Education.
